Etch Primer is a paint that is designed to physically bond itself to the substrate to which it is applied.

This is achieved by combining an acid with the paint so that the acid microscopically etches the surface of the substrate, thus forming a physical and chemical bond between the two.

Etch Primer – Directions for use

1. To achieve the best results always prepare the surface before painting. Make sure surfaces to be painted are clean, dry and free from rust, loose debris, grease, dust and silicon/wax.

2. Use in a well-ventilated area.

3. To avoid overspray, protect surrounding area with masking tape and masking film or paper.

4. Always use the aerosol can at room temperature (21ºC approx.) and shake the can well for at least 2 minutes before use.

5. Spray in dry, windless conditions. Avoid spraying on excessively wet, cold or damp days. Test the spray on a small inconspicuous area first.

6. Hold can upright, approximately 15-25cm from the surface to be sprayed. Depress nozzle and spray with gentle back and forth motion. If the paint runs, increase the spray distance. If the paint appears dry and powdery, hold the can closer to the surface.

7. For best results apply several lighter coats, allowing 10-15 minutes between each coat. Shake can before use and in-between coats.

8. After use, turn the can upside down and spray briefly to clear nozzle of paint. If spray nozzle becomes blocked, remove it and soak in thinners.
