Direct to Bare Metal Surface Paint Colour (Brush, Roll or Spray Type) is a paint that is designed to physically bond itself to the substrate to which it is applied.

This is achieved by combining an acid with the paint so that the acid microscopically etches the surface of the substrate, thus forming a physical and chemical bond between the two.

  • Excellent adhesion for: Steel, Aluminium, Brass, Copper,plastic & Galvanized surfaces.
  • 10-20 Minutes fast drying at 20 Deg.C
  • Good rust inhibitor qualities.

Satin Finish Direct to Bare Metal Surface Paint Colour (Brush, Roll or Spray Type)

  1. To achieve the best results always prepare the surface before painting. Make sure surfaces to be painted are clean, dry and free from rust, loose debris, grease, dust and silicon/wax
  2. Use in a well-ventilated area
  3. To avoid overspray, protect the surrounding area with masking tape and masking film or paper
  4. Always use the paint at room temperature (21ºC approx.) and mix the paint well for at least 2 minutes before use
  5. Apply in dry, windless conditions. Avoid spraying on excessively wet, cold or damp days. Do not apply in direct sunlight.Test the spray on a small inconspicuous area first
  6. Use quality brushes or solvent-proof roller to apply
  7. For best results apply 2 coats of paint – 20 minutes between coats
  8. Clean applicators with standard thinners

Avoid breathing vapour or spray. wear protective gloves and eye protection; gloves; neoprene. Safety glasses with side shields. Avoid release to the environment.

IF ON SKIN: Wash with plenty of soap and water.

IF IN EYES: Rinse cautiously with water if eye irritation persists: Get medical attention. Dispose of contents and container in accordance with all local, regional, national and international regulations.

  1. Safety First:
    • Ensure the car is securely lifted on jack stands or a car lift.
    • Wear safety glasses, a respirator mask, and gloves.
  2. Prepare the Surface:
    • Remove any loose rust, dirt, or old paint using a wire brush or wire wheel.
    • Sand the entire chassis to create a smooth surface for the new paint to adhere to.
    • Clean the chassis thoroughly with a wax and grease remover to eliminate any contaminants.
  3. Rust Treatment:
    • If there’s rust, use a rust converter compatible with Steyer chassis black to neutralize and convert rust into a stable surface.
  4. Priming:
    • Apply a high-quality automotive primer suitable for use with Steyer chassis black to the entire chassis. This helps the paint adhere better and provides additional protection against rust.
  5. Masking:
    • Mask off areas that you don’t want to paint, such as the engine bay or specific components, using masking tape and paper.
  6. Paint Application:
    • Shake the Steyer chassis black paint can thoroughly before using.
    • If using a sprayer, follow the manufacturer’s instructions for mixing and application.
